Watching “weather watchers”
Why are people obsessed with the weather and why do the TV networks give it top news billing at every opportunity? Yes, it can be considered news when events are extreme and lives are in danger or in some cases lost, a good example would be the storms that swept the North West USA last week.
However, I don’t care to be subjected by local news to endless drivel about an imminent deluge of a winter mix, all backed up with the gripping pictures of snow plows and gritting trucks being loaded up and heading out. Their so called news can be seen from any window in the city!!
I wish it were true that there was no news yesterday and they had to fill in empty space!!!
