Automatic donation - it’s not a question of why but how soon

The UK government are encouraging a national debate on weather to introduce a system of opt out instead of opt in for human organ donation. This in my view is long over due.

Why dilute or waist the opportunity of modern medical development with an out of date restrictive practice. However any new procedure must have safe guards, age restrictions, clear accessible reminder systems and very importantly the room for ideological dissention from automatic organ donation via a friendly accessible opt out systems and facilities.

The benefits of having an automatic donation opt in system are monumental, potentially saving over 1000 lives last year alone.
