The Beginning of the Beginning.
The peace process that started today between the Israelis and the Palestinians has enormous consequences for the whole world.
There is a long way to go and this is just the beginning of the beginning. There will be good days and bad days ahead, but with the right attitude and a will to achieve there is some hope of success.
The major differences this time are that all three parties, the US, Israel and Palestine have little to lose and everything to gain from this process, this will focus minds and perhaps provide an ambiance for success. Also, the declaration that everything is up for discussion is a strong start.
If I were to offer advice, it would be for all participants to simply take their pyramid of issues and turn it upside down ….start with your top issue and the most difficult one first.
Let’s hope peace has a chance this time.
