Tartan twosome defeat the USA

It’s Sunday November 25th 2007 at Mission Hills Golf Course, Shenzhen, China and after 4 rounds and 3 playoff holes, Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren triumph by winning the Gold World Cup.

The win is a feat of tenacity, skill and a never-say-die attitude from the Scots. It is fitting that players from the home of golf can win the World Championship but never forget the size and significance of this triumph. How can Scotland, a nation within a nation, having a meager population of only 7 million, once again produce genius? It’s all in the genes! We are a nation of explores, pioneers, scientists, innovators and sportsmen, in short, we are a nation of winners.

Well done Colin and Marc, and well done Scotland.
